Frequently asked questions
Can you commission a family court affidavit (Form 14A) in Mississauga?
Yes. Bring the completed, unsigned affidavit and any exhibits. A lawyer-commissioner administers the oath or affirmation, completes the jurat and marks the exhibits so the form is accepted at the Brampton or other Ontario courthouse.
Do you give advice on what to put in my affidavit?
Commissioning is a witnessing service, so we do not advise on the contents. If you need a lawyer to review or draft the affidavit, we can refer you to Law Wise Professional Corporation in the same office; that is a separate, quoted service.
How much does it cost to have a court affidavit commissioned?
