If family or friends are applying for a Canadian visitor visa or super visa, a letter of invitation from you can support their application. We draft the letter to include the details Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) says a visa office looks for, and notarize it in the same visit.
What the letter includes
IRCC’s guidance lists the information an invitation letter should contain about both the inviter and the visitor. Our letters follow that list:
- About you (the inviter): full name, date of birth, address and phone number in Canada, job title, whether you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (IRCC also asks for a photocopy of proof of status), and the names and dates of birth of your spouse and dependants
- About your visitor: full name, date of birth, address and phone number, your relationship, the purpose of the trip, how long they will stay, where they will stay and who will pay, and when they plan to leave Canada
Is notarization required?
IRCC’s published guidance on letters of invitation does not list notarization as a general requirement, but individual visa offices sometimes ask for a notarized letter and many applicants include one to be safe. Check the instructions for the visa office handling the application; if you are unsure, having it notarized removes the doubt.
Fees
Notarization from $30 per document. Ask us about a discount when you bring several documents in one visit. Drafting is available; the fee depends on the document and may involve additional charges, so please tell us what you need drafted and we will quote before any work begins.

Does the visitor need to be present?
No. Only the person writing the letter (the inviter) attends and signs.
Can one letter invite more than one person?
Yes. A single letter can invite a family travelling together, as long as each visitor’s details are included.
Can you also help with a super visa letter?
Yes. A super visa invitation letter also confirms your income and your commitment to support your parent or grandparent. Bring your Notice of Assessment or other proof of income if you want it referenced.
Do you provide legal advice on the visa application?
